A word from Ramona

Most people come for three weeks. Some stay for years.

Half the people who come through our doors are here after a hospital stay: a new hip, a stroke, a bad bout of pneumonia. They want to get stronger and get home, and our therapists plan every session around that goal, right down to practicing the three steps up to their own back porch.

The other half live here. They have their own chair in the dayroom, their own spot at the Thursday domino table and nurses who have known them long enough to notice a change before it becomes a problem. We take both kinds of care seriously, and we don't make anybody feel like a number.

Sample family reviews

From our families

Dad came in after his stroke unable to stand up by himself. Five weeks later he walked out the front door to my truck. The therapists cried a little. So did I.
Brandon T.Son of a rehab patient, 2024
Mama has lived here four years. The aide on her hall braids her hair on Sundays because she knows Mama likes to look nice for church on TV.
Yolanda R.Daughter of a resident
They called me before I could call them, every single time something changed. That's what I needed most, living three hours away.
Kevin M.Son of a resident
I came for a new knee and left with a domino partner. We still play on Thursdays, only now I drive myself over.

Questions families ask us

Does Medicare pay for rehab here?

In most cases, Medicare Part A covers skilled nursing and therapy after a qualifying inpatient hospital stay of at least three days, in full for the first 20 days and with a daily copay after that. Medicare Advantage plans have their own rules. Our business office will check your coverage before you arrive.

Do you accept Medicaid for long-term care?

Yes. We're certified for Texas Medicaid long-term care, and our business office can walk your family through the application and what paperwork to gather.

Can you take a patient straight from the hospital?

Usually, yes. Ask the hospital case manager to send us a referral. We can often review it and give an answer the same day, including weekends.

When can family visit?

Any time. We ask evening visitors to use the front door after 8 p.m. and to keep things quiet on the halls.
