Why a house

Big enough to care well. Small enough to notice everything.

Deb Kliewer spent nineteen years as a nurse aide in bigger buildings before she bought the brick ranch on Harvest Lane. She wanted a place where the person who helps you shower also knows you take your coffee black and your news at six.

We still run it that way. Eight residents, a cook who makes biscuits and gravy every Saturday, a garden bed by the back door, and families who come and go like it is their own kitchen. Because for a while, it is.

Sample family reviews

From our families

Dad farmed north of town for fifty years. Deb put his chair by the window that looks at the wheat, and he checks on it every morning.
Rhonda S.Daughter of a resident
I can stop in on my lunch break, and nobody acts surprised. Mom is usually at the table with a cup of coffee and an opinion.
Greg T.Son of a resident
When my aunt went on hospice, the girls here stayed with her like family. We will never forget that.
