Home health · Gainesville, Texas
Nurses and therapists who come to your home across Cooke County and the Red River valley, from the first night home to the morning you don't need us. Medicare-certified since 1999.
Chapter one · The first night home
It starts the evening you come home. The bag of new prescriptions on the counter, the walker that doesn't fit through the bathroom door, the daughter who has to drive back to Denton in the morning. The next day, our nurse knocks. She sits down at the table and reads every bottle, walks every room and writes down what you want to be doing in sixty days.
The middle chapters are work: therapy in the hallway, wound care at the kitchen table, a phone call at 2 a.m. that a nurse answers. And the last chapter is the one we love: a final visit, a review of everything you've learned, and a hug at the front door. Evelyn Marchetti has been writing those endings in Cooke County since 1999.
— Evelyn Marchetti, RN, MSN, founder

A plan of care is sixty days long. We think of it as a story with a good ending: you, at home, doing the things you love, with people who know how to help you get there.

The nurse wrote my goal on the refrigerator: Thanksgiving dinner at my own table. I made it.
Sam had me back to walking the square after my knee. Sixty days almost exactly.
Bria got my husband talking again after his stroke. He told me he loved me in week four.
Danielle drove out past Saint Jo twice a week all winter. The wound closed in February.
Martha Jo talked me through Mom's breathing at 3 a.m. We stayed home and she was fine.
The last visit felt like a graduation. The nurse hugged Mama at the door.
Ruben set us up with Meals on Wheels and a church ride before the sixty days ended. That's thinking ahead.

They called two weeks after we were done, just to check. Nobody does that.
