Before you call
Is this assisted living?
Guadalupe Bend is independent retirement living. We don't provide personal care ourselves, but many residents use licensed home health or personal-care agencies who visit them in their apartments, and our wellness nurse helps arrange it.
Is there an entrance fee?
No. You pay one monthly fee on a twelve-month agreement, with a refundable deposit. We'll go through the fee sheet line by line with you.
Does Medicare pay for living here?
No. Medicare doesn't cover rent or meals in independent living. It may cover qualifying home health visits from a Medicare-certified agency, which can come to you here. Some veterans may qualify for VA benefits that help with care costs; ask us and we'll point you in the right direction.
What if the river floods?
Every apartment sits well above the flood plain, and we keep a written emergency plan that we review with residents each spring. The dock and trail close when the water is up.
