A grandfather and his grandson walking out onto the dock over still water on a bright morning

Chapter 01 — Texas Hill Country, Kerrville, TX

Hospice · Kerrville & the Hill Country

More mornings on the river, for as long as there are mornings.

Hospice care at home along the Guadalupe, from Ingram to Comfort. Nurses, aides, a chaplain and a social worker who come to you and stay with you.

Chapter one

The best days are usually ordinary ones.

Families come to us expecting the end. What they remember later is the middle: a grandson's first fish off the dock, Sunday coffee on the back porch, a last trip to see the bluebonnets along the Willow City Loop.

Our work is to make those days possible. We manage pain and breathlessness, teach you what to expect, and answer the phone ourselves at three in the morning.

Sample family reviews

In families' own words

Dad taught our son to fish off the dock that summer. The nurse came in the mornings so he'd be comfortable by the afternoon bite. Those are the pictures we frame.
Allison R.Daughter of a patient, Ingram
I was terrified of doing something wrong. Our nurse wrote everything on the fridge in big letters and told me to call any time. I called a lot. She never once made me feel foolish.
Judy K.Wife and caregiver, Kerrville
Father Wendt sat with Mom on Thursdays and prayed the rosary in Spanish with her. She looked forward to it all week.
Ramiro G.Son of a patient, Center Point
When Dad passed at four in the morning, the nurse was at our door in twenty minutes. She made coffee, called the funeral home and sat with us until the sun came up.
Brad S.Son of a patient, Comfort
The grief group gave me somewhere to go on Wednesdays when the house was too quiet. A year later I still go.
