Good to know

What families ask

When should we call hospice?

When a doctor expects the illness to run its course in about six months or less, or when treatment has stopped helping. A phone call commits you to nothing.

Does Medicare pay for hospice?

Yes. The Medicare hospice benefit covers the care team, medicines, equipment and supplies for the hospice diagnosis, usually with nothing owed. SoonerCare and most private plans cover hospice too.

Can Grandpa keep seeing his clinic doctor?

Yes. His own doctor, including a tribal or IHS clinic physician, can stay involved and work with our medical director.

Do you honor traditional practices?

Yes. Families are welcome to include traditional medicine people, ceremonies and their own ministers. Tell us what matters and we'll plan around it.

What if he gets better?

Some patients improve. A person can leave hospice at any time, return to regular treatment and come back later if needed.

Let us carry some of it.

Call or text with any question. A hospice nurse will answer, and nothing happens until you're ready.
