What is a life plan community?
A campus with independent living plus assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing, so residents can stay as their needs change. Residents who move in independently have priority for higher levels of care.
What's the difference between your two contracts?
The entrance-fee plan asks for a one-time fee at move-in, and in return your monthly fees stay more predictable if you need more care. Depending on the plan, part of the entrance fee may be refundable. The rental plan has no entrance fee and you pay current rates for each level of care.
Does Medicare pay for assisted living or memory care?
No. Medicare doesn't cover assisted living, memory care or long-term custodial care. Original Medicare Part A may cover short-term skilled nursing and rehab after a qualifying inpatient hospital stay.
Can I bring my pets?
Yes. Cats, dogs and the occasional parakeet live on the ridge. Cottages have fenced patios.
Is there a waiting list?
For cottages, usually. A refundable deposit holds your place without committing you to a date.
