Good to know

Questions, answered

Do residents have to join the preschool mornings?

Never. Some residents come every day, some come once in a while and some prefer to wave through the window. We follow each person's lead.

Is it safe for the children?

Yes. Shared mornings are always led by a preschool teacher and a Kite Hill caregiver together, in a common room between the two buildings. Preschool staff are licensed and background-checked under Kansas child care rules.

How is memory care paid for?

Most families pay privately or with long-term care insurance. Medicare covers doctor visits and therapy but not room and board. Veterans may qualify for VA benefits, and some Kansans qualify for Medicaid (KanCare) waiver services. Our business office will help you sort through the options.

Is the building secure?

Doors are coded and alarmed and the courtyard is fully fenced, so residents can walk freely and safely indoors and out.

Can families join shared mornings?

Of course. Grandkids are especially welcome. Let the front desk know the day before so we can plan enough snack.

What if my parent's needs change?

We update the care plan as needs change and coordinate hospice when the time comes, so most residents never need to move again.
