Good to know

Questions families ask us

Does Medicare pay for rehab at Mulberry Lane?

Original Medicare Part A can cover up to 100 days in a skilled nursing facility after a qualifying hospital stay of at least three days, when you need daily skilled care. Days 1 through 20 are covered in full; from day 21 there is a daily coinsurance. Medicare Advantage plans set their own rules, and we check yours before you arrive.

Do you accept KanCare?

Yes. KanCare, the Kansas Medicaid program, covers long-term nursing care for residents who qualify medically and financially. Our social services director helps families apply.

Can I see your inspection results?

Of course. Medicare publishes inspection results and quality information for every nursing home at Medicare.gov Care Compare, and our most recent state survey is in a binder in the front lobby.

Can I come straight from the hospital?

Yes. Most of our rehab patients do. Ask the hospital case manager to send a referral to Mulberry Lane, or call us and we'll take it from there, seven days a week.

What should I bring?

Clothes you can move in, sturdy shoes with backs, glasses, hearing aids, a phone charger and a few things that make a room feel like yours. We label and launder everything.

When can family visit?

Any time. Join us for a meal, bring the dog, sit on the porch. After eight in the evening, ring the bell at the east door.

Come sit on the porch. We'll answer everything.

Call or text Loretta, or just stop by. Somebody is always here to show you around.
