Bayfront apartments and villas on Ocean Drive, with assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing on the same breezy campus across from Cole Park.

A scrapbook of a place
Ocean Drive Commons opened in 1985, when a group of Corpus Christi families and two downtown churches bought a stretch of bayfront and promised their parents they'd never have to leave the water. The first residents were shrimpers' widows, naval aviators from NAS Corpus Christi and schoolteachers who'd spent forty summers on Padre Island.
Today there are apartments, villas, assisted living, memory care and a skilled nursing center, all facing the bay. Residents paint on the seawall, dance at Fiesta de la Flor, sail with the grandkids and gather every Friday at sunset with a glass of something cold. When someone needs more care, it's down the breezeway, with the same view.

What sets us apart

Gulf red snapper on Fridays and breakfast tacos every morning.

We believe the good life is a collection of small, bright moments: a toast on the seawall, a dance at the festival, a grandchild's drawing on the fridge. Our job is to keep those moments coming, and to make sure the care is already here when you need it.

Sample family reviews
I flew off carriers for twenty-two years. Now I paint the bay every morning from the seawall. Nobody grades me.
Mom dances at Fiesta de la Flor every year. She's eighty-seven. The staff dance with her.
When Hurricane Harvey came through, they had everyone inland before we could even call. Dad came back to the same room and the same nurse.
My knee rehab was in the Health Center, with the bay out my window. I watched the sailboats and did my exercises.
Friday sunset social is the best hour of my week. Forty friends, one view, no dishes.
When Dad moved to Sandpiper House, they made a life-story book with us. Every caregiver knew he'd been a shrimper.
They explained the contract twice, then sent it in writing. No pressure at all.
The nurses call us in Dallas after every care meeting. We always know what's going on.
I took up pottery at eighty-one. I've given a mug to every person in my hallway.
Mama's last days were in the Health Center with the bay breeze coming in and the chaplain singing with her. It was peaceful.
