What is a life care contract?
A life care contract (sometimes called Type A) includes an entrance fee and a monthly fee that stays largely the same if you move to assisted living, memory care or skilled nursing. A fee-for-service contract has a lower entrance fee, and you pay market rates for higher levels of care if you need them.
Is the entrance fee refundable?
Depending on the plan you choose, part of the entrance fee may be refundable to you or your estate. Your agreement spells out exactly how much and when.
Does Medicare pay for any of this?
Medicare does not cover independent living, assisted living or long-term custodial care. Original Medicare Part A can cover short-term skilled nursing and rehab in our Health Center after a qualifying inpatient hospital stay.
Can I move straight into assisted living or memory care?
Yes, when space is available. Residents already living at Osage Terrace have priority.
May I bring my own furniture and art?
Please do. Our move coordinator will help you decide what fits and arrange to have pictures hung before you arrive.
