Adult day club · Clarksville, Arkansas

Weekdays are better with a crowd.

Peach Street is a day club for grown-ups who need a hand and a lot of company. Lunch, music, games, a nurse down the hall and a ride home before supper.

Why we started

Nobody should eat lunch by themselves every day.

Shonda spent twelve years as a home health nurse in Johnson County. The same thing kept coming up in kitchens all over the county: Mom was safe enough at home, but she was lonely, and the house was too quiet.

So in 2017 she rented the old fabric store on Peach Street, painted the door pink and opened a club. Members come for the people first. The nurse, the help with pills and the shower room are there because they need to be.

Sample family reviews

Club families say

Mama hadn't worn lipstick in a year. Now she puts it on for Peach Street. That is the whole review.
Tanya R.Daughter of a member
My husband worked at the poultry plant for thirty years and does not like crowds. He has a regular seat by the window and a friend named Earl. That's enough for him.
Gloria M.Wife of a member
I work in Russellville and used to call home four times a day. Now I get a text at three with a picture of Dad holding a bingo card.
Marcus D.Son of a member
The nurse noticed Mom's ankles were swelling and called her doctor's office with me on the line. They changed one medicine and it was fixed in a week.

Things families ask first

What is an adult day club, exactly?

A daytime program for older adults who live at home with family but should not be alone all day. Members come for the hours you choose, get lunch, care and company, and go home in the afternoon.

Who is a good fit?

People who are lonely, a little unsteady, living with memory loss in the early or middle stages, recovering from a stroke, or simply need someone watching their medicines. We visit your home before the first day to make sure we are a good match.

How do families pay?

Private pay by the day, VA benefits for eligible veterans, long-term care insurance, and Arkansas Medicaid waiver programs for those who qualify. Medicare generally does not cover adult day. We will help you check.

Can Dad come just two days a week?

Yes. Two days is our minimum so members get to know their table. Most families settle on three.

What if something happens during the day?

A registered nurse is on site all day. We call you for anything out of the ordinary and call 911 first in an emergency.

Is the first day really free?

Yes, lunch and the van included. Come see if you like us.
