Good to know
Questions, plainly answered
What is an adult day program?
A place for older adults to spend the weekday with care, company and a hot meal, then go home in the afternoon. It is not a nursing home. Members live at home with family.
Who is a good fit?
Someone who should not be alone all day: living with memory loss, recovering from a stroke or fall, needing help with medicines, or simply too isolated on the farm. Ruth Ann visits your home before the first day.
How do families pay?
Privately by the day, or with VA benefits, long-term care insurance or a Kansas Medicaid waiver program for those who qualify. Medicare generally does not cover adult day. We will help you check.
How far does the van go?
Anywhere in Morris County, gravel roads included. Ask us about pickups just over the county line.
How many days does Mom have to come?
Two days a week at least, so she gets to know the table. Most families choose three.
What if something happens during the day?
Our nurse is on site every hour we are open. We call you right away, and we call 911 first in an emergency.
Is the barn accessible?
Yes. Level floors, wide doors, a ramp entrance, grab bars and an accessible shower room.
What does my dad need to bring?
A list of his medicines, a change of clothes, and his reading glasses. We take care of the rest.
Can we try a day first?
Yes, and the first day is on us, noon dinner and the van included.

Stay for noon dinner. There's always room.
Call or text Ruth Ann to set up a visit day, on us. The van can pick up anywhere in the county.
