Good to know

Questions, answered

Do residents have to work?

Never. Every job is optional, and plenty of residents prefer to watch, supervise or rest. We offer; they choose.

Is it safe?

Jobs are chosen to fit each person's abilities, sharp tools are locked away, and a caregiver works alongside every crew.

What if my father can't do his old job anymore?

We break work into the parts he can still do and enjoy. A retired carpenter might sand boards; a farmer might water the beds. The point is purpose, not output.

Is the building secure?

Yes. Doors are coded and alarmed, and the garden is walled.

How is memory care paid for?

Most families pay privately or with long-term care insurance. Medicare covers doctor visits and therapy but not room and board. Veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for VA pension benefits, and some Oklahomans qualify for the state's ADvantage waiver for assisted living services. Our social worker can help.

How many residents live in each household?

Eleven, with four households sharing the garden, workshop and great room.

How do you handle sundowning?

A full, purposeful day helps most. Late afternoons are quieter: music, a walk, a simple task. Most residents settle without extra medication.

Can we bring furniture?

Please do: a favorite chair, quilt, photographs, even a small toolbox or sewing basket.

Can families join in?

Any time. Pick a crew and pitch in.

What happens if needs increase?

We adjust the plan, simplify jobs and coordinate hospice so most residents never move again.

Do you offer respite stays?

When a room is available.

Can couples live together?

Yes, in our companion suites.

Do residents go on outings?

Small, staffed trips to the farmers market, the river walk and local museums.

How often will I hear from you?

A weekly note, a quarterly conference and a call whenever anything changes.

What about pets?

Calm, vaccinated family pets are welcome to visit.

Are meals flexible?

A choice at every meal, finger foods when they help, and pie when the kitchen crew is feeling ambitious.

Is there a chaplain?

Volunteer clergy lead Sunday chapel and visit on request.

What do you need to know before move-in?

What your loved one did, loved and was proud of. That's how we build the roster.

How do we begin?

Call or text. We'll set a tour and a nurse visit, and walk you through the rest.

There's a job with your mother's name on it.

Call or text Nadia. Tell us what your mom or dad did for a living, and we'll show you where they'd fit.
