Questions, answered
Who pays for home health?
Medicare covers home health in full for patients who are homebound and need part-time skilled nursing or therapy under a doctor's plan of care. Most Medicare Advantage plans and KanCare also cover it. We verify your coverage before the first visit.
What does homebound mean?
Leaving home takes a considerable and taxing effort, or you need a device, a ride or another person's help to do it. Trips to the doctor, church or the barber are still allowed.
How long will I have home health?
Most of our patients reach their goals in four to eight weeks. A plan of care covers up to sixty days, and your doctor can renew it if you still qualify.
Can I choose Wakarusa?
Yes. Medicare patients can choose any certified agency that serves their area. Tell your doctor or hospital case manager you'd like us.
Do you serve Jefferson and Franklin counties?
Yes: Oskaloosa, Perry, Valley Falls, Ottawa, Wellsville and the farms in between.

What do you want to do again?
Tell us, and we'll build the plan around it. Call, text or ask your hospital case manager to send the referral to Wakarusa.
