No. 01 · Who we are

A hospital stay ends. The getting better happens here.

Most people meet us on the worst week of their year: a fall at the deer lease, a new hip, a bout of pneumonia that left a strong man too weak to stand. They arrive by ambulance from the hospital across town, and our first job is to make the room feel less like one.

Our second job is to send them home. The therapy gym opens at seven, the discharge planner meets every family in the first three days, and the nurses who care for our long-term residents bring the same steadiness to people who are only passing through.

Families and patients, in their words

I came in on a stretcher after my knee replacement and walked out twenty-two days later. Jared had me climbing the four steps to my own porch before they let me leave.
Wanda H.Rehab patient, 2025
Daddy had a stroke in March. They worked with him on a Sunday, which surprised me. He's back at the house with home health now and feeding his cows.
Brent C.Son of a rehab patient
Mama has lived here three years. Marcus knows her medications better than I do, and he calls me before I have to call him.
Tasha W.Daughter of a long-term resident
Dana sat with us for an hour going through the Medicaid paperwork. We would have quit on page two without her.
Ricky and Joan M.Family of a resident
The wound on Dad's heel had been open for months. Six weeks here and it closed. The nurse showed me pictures every Friday so I could see it healing.
Lisa P.Daughter of a resident
My husband loves the catfish on Fridays and the ball game on the radio. It's small things, but they are his things.
Nora B.Wife of a long-term resident
We toured before my surgery so I knew which room I'd be in. That took half the fear out of it.
