Our story

Claire's parents were married fifty-one years. Her father's Alzheimer's put them in two different buildings for the last two.

In 2008 she bought a weathered bayfront inn with blue shutters and a seawall, and started drawing companion suites on napkins.

Aransas Bay opened in 2009. The first couple to move in had been married since 1952 and danced at the opening.

Hurricane Harvey damaged the roof and the pier in 2017. Every resident evacuated safely inland, and every one came home.

Twelve couples live here today. Every evening, someone is holding hands on the seawall.
