Est. 1982 · Hospice for north-central Oklahoma

Forty-three years of bringing comfort home.

One of Oklahoma's first hospices, still independent and still local. Nurses, aides, chaplains and social workers serving four counties along the Arkansas River.

Our beginnings

Started by neighbors, still run by them.

In 1982, hospice was barely a word in Oklahoma. A Ponca City nurse named Dorothy Reese had seen it work in Kansas City, and she came home determined. She gathered a doctor, two ministers and a dozen volunteers, and they started visiting dying neighbors at home.

Medicare added a hospice benefit the next year, and we were among the first in the state to use it. We've never sold to a chain. Our board is local, our nurses live here, and the phone still rings to someone who knows these streets.

Our story

Forty-three years on Grand Avenue

Read our story

We believe the people who built this town deserve to finish their lives in it, at home, among their own. We believe in plain talk, good nursing and showing up at night. We believe a hospice should be part of its community, not just in it. And we believe forty-three years of trust is earned one family at a time.
