For the family

Here's what we do for the people doing the caregiving.

  1. 01

    A nurse any hour

  2. 02

    Someone to sit up

Night sitters so you can sleep.

  3. 03

    The plan on the fridge

Medicines, visit days and numbers in plain words.

  4. 04

    Last wishes

Help with one more trip, one more dinner, one more drive.

  5. 05

    Ready for the end

Our nurses gently explain the changes near the end, ahead of time.

  6. 06

    After the loss

Thirteen months of grief support for the whole family.

Insurance & payment

Paying for hospice

Most families owe nothing. Our business office checks every plan before care begins.

Medicare

The Medicare hospice benefit covers the care team, medicines, supplies and equipment for the hospice diagnosis, usually at no cost.

SoonerCare

Oklahoma Medicaid covers hospice. If your loved one lives in a nursing home on SoonerCare, room and board stays covered.

VA and tribal health

Veterans enrolled in VA health care are eligible. We also coordinate with tribal health services.

Private insurance

Most plans include hospice. We'll verify yours.

No one turned away

As a nonprofit, we care for patients regardless of ability to pay. Ask our business office.

Good to know

What families ask

When should we call hospice?

When a doctor expects the illness to run its course in about six months or less, or when treatment is no longer helping. A call commits you to nothing.

Does Medicare pay for hospice?

Yes. The Medicare hospice benefit covers the care team, medicines, equipment and supplies for the hospice diagnosis, usually with nothing owed.

Are you part of a national chain?

No. We're an independent nonprofit with a local board, and we've been here since 1982.

Do you honor tribal traditions?

Yes. Families are welcome to include traditional ceremonies and their own spiritual leaders, and we coordinate with tribal health services.

Can he keep his own doctor?

Yes. His doctor can stay involved and work with our medical director.

What if she gets better?

Some patients do. She can leave hospice at any time and return to treatment, and come back later if needed.

Neighbors since 1982.

Call or text with any question. A hospice nurse will answer, and nothing is decided until you're ready.
