Good to know
Texas licenses homes like ours as assisted living facilities. We help with daily living, like bathing, dressing, meals and medications, with staff awake around the clock. We are not a nursing home and do not provide round-the-clock skilled nursing.
Before move-in we sit with the family and write down who your loved one is: their work, places, faith, music, food and fears. Every caregiver reads it, and it shapes their day. Families keep a copy.
Most residents pay privately or with long-term care insurance. Veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for VA Aid and Attendance. Some Texans qualify for help through Medicaid waiver programs. Ask our office and we will walk you through what may apply.
We care for residents with mild to moderate memory loss who are safe in an open home setting. If someone needs a secured memory care unit, Ruth Ann will tell you honestly and help you find one.
Yes. We drive residents to their own doctors and share notes with every provider. A visiting physician also sees residents at the house monthly.
Many residents stay with us through the end of life with hospice visiting. If someone needs more care than we can safely give, Ruth Ann helps the family plan the next step.
