Questions, answered
What is a residential care home in Texas?
Texas licenses homes like ours as assisted living facilities. We provide help with daily living, like bathing, dressing, meals and medications, in a home setting with staff awake around the clock. We are not a nursing home and do not provide round-the-clock skilled nursing.
How do families pay?
Most residents pay privately, often with long-term care insurance. Veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for VA Aid and Attendance. Some Texans qualify for help through Medicaid waiver programs. Ask our office and we will walk you through what may apply.
Can my parents live together?
Yes. Our companion suite has two bedrooms and a shared sitting room, and couples can also share a large private suite.
Do residents keep their own doctors?
Yes. We drive residents to their own doctors in Granbury or Fort Worth and share notes with every provider.
What happens if care needs grow?
Many residents stay through the end of life with hospice visiting. If someone needs more nursing than we can safely provide, Lorena helps the family plan the next step.
