Our story
One day, hour by hour
8:30 a.m. · Coffee and the paper
Somebody reads the Journal out loud. Somebody else disagrees with it. Our nurse makes the rounds: blood pressure, blood sugar, morning medicines.
10:00 a.m. · Moving
Balance class and the walking loop, or therapy with Nina. Members who'd rather sit still do chair exercise, and nobody is pushed.
Noon · Dinner
A hot meal at the long tables, cooked here that morning. Families are welcome to join any day.
1:30 p.m. · The afternoon
Dominoes, pitch, quilting, painting, the garden, gospel hour or a nap in the quiet room. Members choose.
4:30 p.m. · Home
A snack, a handwritten note in every pocket, and the van home. See you tomorrow.
