Good to know

Questions families ask

What is an adult day center?

A daytime program for older adults who live at home but shouldn't be alone all day. Members get care, meals and company, and go home every afternoon.

Who is a good fit?

Adults living with memory loss, recovering from a stroke or fall, managing diabetes or heart trouble, or isolated at home. Our nurse visits your home first.

How do families pay?

Privately by the day, or through VA benefits, long-term care insurance and Arkansas Medicaid programs for those who qualify. Medicare generally does not cover adult day. Our social worker helps you check.

Is there a nurse there all day?

Yes, every hour we're open.

What about members with dementia?

They spend part of the day in the vault room program with staff trained in dementia care, and join everyone for lunch and music.

How far does the van go?

Anywhere in Union County, door to door. Ask about Smackover, Norphlet and Junction City pickups.

Can Mom come two days a week?

Yes. Two is our minimum. Most families settle on three or four.

What if she gets sick during the day?

Our nurse checks her right away and calls you. In an emergency we call 911 first.

Do you help with showers?

Yes, with a roll-in shower room and trained aides.

Is the old building accessible?

Yes. We added a ramp and an elevator, widened doors and built accessible restrooms when we restored it.

What should Dad bring?

A list of medicines, noon doses in the pharmacy bottle, a sweater and his glasses.

Can we visit without an appointment?

Yes. Walk in any time we're open. A tour is better with an appointment, but we'll always show you around.

Can we try a day first?

Yes. The first day is free, lunch and the van included.

Lunch is served in the lobby at noon.

Bring your mother or your dad for a free day, lunch and the van included. Call or text and we'll set it up.
