Good to know

Questions, answered

Does Medicare cover a stay at Ember Hill?

Original Medicare Part A covers skilled nursing and rehab for up to 100 days per benefit period after a qualifying inpatient hospital stay, if you need daily skilled care. Days 1 to 20 are covered in full; from day 21 there is a daily coinsurance. Medicare Advantage plans set their own rules; we'll verify your plan before you arrive.

Are all suites private?

Yes. Every short-stay patient has a private suite with a walk-in shower. There is no extra charge for a private room in our short-term rehab program.

Can I choose Ember Hill instead of the facility the hospital suggests?

Yes. You have the right to choose your post-hospital care provider. Tell your case manager, and call us so we can begin the referral.

Is the pool safe if I can't swim?

Yes. It's chest deep at most, with handrails, a ramp and a lift, and a therapist is in the water for every session.

What happens after I go home?

We arrange equipment, prescriptions and home health or outpatient therapy before discharge, and many patients continue outpatient therapy with us under Medicare Part B.

Book the suite before the surgery.

Call admissions or have your surgeon's office send a referral. We'll hold a suite for your discharge date.
