Why families call us

Comfort without the paperwork maze.

Texarkana families know the State Line problem: a doctor in Texas, a house in Arkansas, a daughter in Louisiana and insurance that seems to care which is which. We are licensed in both states and we sort out the details, so you don't have to.

What you get is one hospice team that knows your family, visits on a schedule you can count on, and answers the phone at 2 a.m. with a real nurse's voice.

For families

For the family

Caring for someone at home is hard work. Here is what we do for you.

  1. 01

    A real nurse, any hour

Call day or night and a hospice nurse answers. Our average call-back after hours is about twenty minutes.

  2. 02

    The plan, written down

Medicines, visit days and phone numbers in a binder on the kitchen counter, updated every visit.

  3. 03

    Rest for the caregiver

Volunteers for a few hours, respite stays for a few nights.

  4. 04

    No surprises

Our nurses explain the changes that come near the end, gently and ahead of time.

Insurance & payment

Paying for hospice

Most families owe nothing for hospice care. Here's how coverage usually works; our business office will check your specific plan.

Medicare

The Medicare hospice benefit covers the team, medicines, equipment and supplies related to the hospice diagnosis, usually with no cost to the family.

Texas and Arkansas Medicaid

Both states' Medicaid programs cover hospice. If your loved one lives in a nursing home on Medicaid, room and board continues to be covered.

VA benefits

Veterans enrolled in VA health care are eligible for hospice. We help coordinate with the VA.

Private insurance

Most employer and marketplace plans include a hospice benefit. We verify coverage before care begins.

Room and board

Hospice does not pay rent or room and board in a nursing home or assisted living. Our social worker can explain the options.
