Our story

Vivian Okafor-Hale spent fifteen years running hotels in Tulsa. When her father's dementia worsened, she moved home to Claremore to care for him and saw how early the days ended in every place they toured.

In 2014 she bought a stone house above the valley with a great room, a deep porch and a hillside of lilacs. She added a wing of suites and kept the parlor fireplace at the heart of the house.

From the first night, supper has been served at six by candlelight, on linen, with a choice of entrée. Her father called it the best restaurant in Rogers County.

Vivian built the staffing around the hours that are hardest for older adults: late afternoon and evening. That is when Lilac Hill has the most caregivers on the floor.
