Good to know

What families ask us

What is an adult day program?

A daytime place for older adults who live at home but shouldn't spend the day alone. Members come for the hours you choose and go home every afternoon.

Who is a good fit for Lilac Lane?

Adults who need a little help and a lot of company: living with early or middle-stage dementia, recovering from a stroke, managing diabetes or Parkinson's, or simply lonely at home. Margaret visits your home first.

How do families pay?

Privately by the day, or through VA benefits, long-term care insurance and Arkansas Medicaid programs for those who qualify. Medicare generally does not cover adult day. We'll help you check.

Is a nurse there all day?

Yes, every hour the cottage is open.

Is a 1910 cottage accessible?

Yes. We added a ramp through the garden gate, an elevator, wide doors and an accessible bath suite.

Does the van come to Gentry?

Yes. We cover Siloam Springs and Gentry, door to door. Ask about other towns.

How many days can Mom come?

Two to five. Most families start with two and add days once their member settles in.

What about members with dementia?

They spend part of the day in the garden room with staff trained in dementia care, and join everyone for lunch, music and the garden.

What does my dad need to bring?

A list of his medicines, noon doses in the pharmacy bottle, a sweater and his glasses.

What if something happens during the day?

Our nurse checks right away and calls you. In an emergency we call 911 first.

Can Mom get a bath at the cottage?

Yes, in our bath suite with a trained aide. Many families use it so bath day is one less job at home.

Do you close for weather?

We follow the Siloam Springs schools on snow and ice days and call every family by 6:30 a.m.

Can we visit without an appointment?

Of course. A tour is nicer with an appointment, but the gate is always open.

Can we try a day?

Yes. Your first visit day is our treat, lunch and the van included.

The kettle is on. Come sit with us.

Bring your mother or your dad for a visit day, our treat. Call or text Margaret and we'll set it up.
