Good to know

Ask us anything

What is assisted living, exactly?

Your own apartment, meals and housekeeping, plus help with daily things like bathing, dressing and medications when you need it. It is not a nursing home, which provides 24-hour skilled nursing.

Is there a buy-in or entrance fee?

No. Rent is monthly and month to month, with a one-time community fee listed on your estimate.

How is the monthly cost figured?

Base rent depends on the apartment. Care is added in levels based on a free assessment by our wellness nurse. Everything is on one written estimate.

Does Medicare pay for assisted living?

No. Medicare doesn't cover rent or personal care in assisted living, though it can cover doctor visits, therapy and some supplies. Most residents pay privately, sometimes with long-term care insurance or VA benefits.

Does Arkansas Medicaid help?

Arkansas has a Medicaid waiver program that helps pay for care in some assisted living communities for people who qualify. Ask our office whether we currently have waiver availability.

Can I really walk downtown?

Yes. The coffee shop is on our corner, the library is across the street and the farmers market is two blocks away. Staff walk with anyone who wants company.

Can I keep my car?

Yes, there's resident parking behind the building. Our van is there when you'd rather not drive.

What if I need more care later?

Our nurse reassesses whenever needs change. Many residents age in place here with more help. If someone needs skilled nursing, we help the family plan the move.

Are couples welcome?

Yes. Couples share an apartment and each has their own care plan.

Are pets allowed?

Cats and small dogs, with a deposit.

Is the building accessible?

Yes. Elevators to every floor, level entries, wide halls and walk-in showers in every apartment, inside the original 1925 brick.

Can family stay over?

We have a guest suite for visiting family, by reservation, for a small nightly fee.

Do you do short stays?

Yes, furnished respite apartments are available for a week or longer.

Do veterans get help?

The VA Aid and Attendance pension can help eligible veterans and surviving spouses pay for assisted living. We'll point you to a local veterans service officer.

Downtown is calling.

Call or text Jasmine. She'll meet you at the coffee shop on the corner if you'd rather start there.
