Questions & answers

What's the difference between assisted living and a nursing home?

Assisted living gives people their own apartment with help for daily activities like bathing, dressing and medications, plus meals and activities. A nursing home provides 24-hour skilled nursing for people with more complex medical needs. If someone's needs grow beyond assisted living, we help the family plan the next step.

Can VA benefits help pay?

Possibly. Wartime veterans and surviving spouses who meet the VA's service, medical and financial requirements may qualify for the Aid & Attendance pension, which can be used toward assisted living. Our benefits desk helps gather the paperwork and connect you with an accredited representative.

Does Medicare or TRICARE pay for assisted living?

No. Medicare and TRICARE do not cover room and board or personal care in assisted living, though they continue to cover medical care like doctor visits and prescriptions. Most families pay privately, sometimes with long-term care insurance or VA benefits. In Oklahoma, the Medicaid ADvantage waiver may help some residents who qualify; ask our business office.

How is the monthly cost set?

Rent depends on the apartment, and a care level is added after our nurse's assessment. You'll get a written estimate with every fee on your first tour.

Can residents keep their cars?

Yes, if they're driving safely. Parking is free and covered spots are available.

Are pets welcome?

Small dogs and cats are welcome when the resident can care for them, with a little help from our staff.
