Assisted living · Abilene, Texas

Supper's at five. Dominoes start at six.

Fifty-six private apartments on Abilene's south side, with caregivers on hand day and night and a calendar so full our residents have started turning down invitations.

Howdy, neighbor

Help with the hard parts. Company for the rest.

Most folks who move to Mesquite Hill are done mowing, done cooking for one and done worrying about the stairs at night. They are not done living. So we handle the pills, the showers and the laundry, and leave the rest of the day wide open.

On any given afternoon you'll find a domino game in the card room, somebody arguing about the Wildcats in the lobby, and Cody loading the bus for a ride out to Buffalo Gap. Join in, or don't. Your apartment door locks from the inside, and nobody takes it personally.

What families tell us

Mom was eating crackers for supper alone in her house on Sayles. Now she eats with six friends and complains that the cobbler is too good to pass up.
Sherry D.Daughter of a resident
I came for a week of respite after my hip. I called my son on day four and told him to sell the house.
Bobby J.Resident since 2023
Kaylee handed us a single page with every price on it. No surprises in two years. That's rare.
Mike & Teresa R.Son and daughter-in-law of a resident
Dad was a rancher out by Tuscola. They put him in charge of the garden beds and he hasn't missed a morning since.
Jolene P.Daughter of a resident
Marisol called me before Mom's doctor did. She'd already noticed the swelling and had the appointment made.
Angela W.Daughter of a resident
Somebody taught my mother to play forty-two at eighty-three. She now beats the men, and she lets them know it.

For families

For families

The practical stuff, so you can spend your visit visiting.

  1. 01

    Visit any time

No visiting hours. Stay for a meal, and let the front desk know so the kitchen sets a place.

  2. 02

    Sunday dinner

Families eat free the first Sunday of the month. Everybody else pays seven dollars and gets cobbler.

  3. 03

    A call when it matters

Marisol calls you about falls, doctor visits and medication changes, the same day.

  4. 04

    Label everything

Write names in clothes and on the bottom of favorite mugs. We'll do the rest.
