Registered nurse on site every weekday, licensed nurse on call around the clock

• Dementia-certified caregivers on every shift

  Each caregiver completes a 16-hour dementia course before working alone, and refreshes it every year.

  Nurse-supervised, delivered by a Fort Smith pharmacy, reviewed with your doctor.

  Gentle, private and at the time of day each resident prefers.

  Checked on a schedule and handled with dignity.

  Seen right here in the Hall, billed to Medicare or your insurance.

• Physical and occupational therapy referrals

  Outpatient therapists come to the Hall when a doctor orders it.

Daily life

Small wings of ten, each with its own parlor

• Afternoon tea at three

  Real cups and saucers, cookies from our kitchen and good conversation.

• The Hall's own kitchen

  Three meals and snacks, Sunday pot roast and finger foods when they help.

• Rose garden and porch

  Fenced, level paths through the roses my grandmother planted.

• Piano hour and hymn sing

  Volunteers from three Fort Smith churches take turns at the piano.

• Beauty parlor

  Wash and set on Tuesdays, barber on Thursdays.

• Housekeeping and personal laundry

  Name labels sewn in, so nothing goes missing.

For families

• Quarterly care conferences

  Sit down with our nurse and social worker, or join by phone.

• Caregiver support circle

  Third Tuesday evening, open to any family in the River Valley.

• Hospice coordination

  Residents can usually stay in their own rooms with hospice support until the end.
