Good to know
Reader questions
What is an adult day center?
A daytime program for older adults who live at home but shouldn't be alone all day. Members get care, meals, therapy and company, and go home every afternoon.
Who is a good fit?
Adults living with dementia, Parkinson's, recovering from a stroke or fall, managing diabetes or heart failure, or isolated at home. Our nurse visits before the first day.
How do families pay?
Privately by the day, or through VA benefits, long-term care insurance and Arkansas Medicaid programs for those who qualify. Medicare generally does not cover adult day.
Our family lives out of state. How will we know how Mom is doing?
Every family gets a weekly email with photos and a note from our nurse, and we'll put you on any call about a change in care. Care conferences can be by video.
Is a nurse there all day?
Yes, every hour we are open.
What area does the van cover?
Bella Vista and Bentonville, door to door. Ask about Pea Ridge and Gravette.
Can Dad do therapy at the center?
Yes, with a doctor's order. Our therapists work three mornings a week and coordinate with his physician.
What is the Parkinson's class?
A twice-weekly class built around large, rhythmic movements, led by our physical therapist. Many members with Parkinson's come on those days.
Are the lake outings safe for someone using a wheelchair?
Yes. We use accessible pavilions and paved trail, and staff go along at a ratio of one to three.
How many days does Mom have to come?
Two days a week at least, so she gets to know her table. Most families choose three.
What about members with dementia?
They spend part of the day in smaller groups with staff trained in dementia care and join everyone for meals, music and outings.
What happens in an emergency?
Our nurse responds right away. We call 911 first if needed, then you.
Can Mom shower at the center?
Yes, in our shower suite with a trained aide.
Can we try a day?
Yes. The first day is free, lunch and the van included.

The great room fills up at ten.
Come for a tour and stay for lunch, or bring your parent for a free day with the van included.
