Good to know

Questions, answered

Does Medicare cover rehab at Terra Rosa?

Original Medicare Part A can cover up to 100 days of skilled nursing and rehab after a qualifying three-day inpatient hospital stay. Days 1–20 are fully covered; days 21–100 have a daily coinsurance. Medicare Advantage plans set their own rules, and we verify yours before admission.

Do you accept SoonerCare (Medicaid)?

Yes. SoonerCare covers long-term nursing care for residents who qualify medically and financially. Our social services team helps with the application.

Can I tour before my surgery?

Please do. Many joint-replacement patients tour two or three weeks ahead and reserve a suite for their discharge date.

What should I bring for a rehab stay?

Comfortable clothes you can exercise in, sturdy shoes with backs, glasses, hearing aids, your phone and charger. We do the laundry.

How often is therapy?

Rehab patients usually have therapy five or six days a week, based on their plan and what their insurance covers.

What are visiting hours?

Families visit any time. Evenings and Sunday dinner are especially lively.

Can residents have their own doctor?

Yes, if your physician can visit or coordinate with us. Otherwise our medical director and nurse practitioner will follow your care.

How do you keep families informed?

Care conferences every quarter (and at admission for rehab), plus a phone call whenever anything changes.

Do you have a memory care hall?

We have a quieter hall with dementia-trained aides for long-term residents who need it.

What about hospice?

Residents can receive hospice in their own rooms through our hospice partners.

Can we bring furniture?

Long-term residents are welcome to bring a chair, a dresser, photos and bedding. We'll help set it up.

Are meals flexible?

Yes. There's a choice at every meal and an always-available menu. Our dietitian plans around diabetes, swallowing needs and preferences.

Can residents leave for outings?

Long-term residents can go out with family any time; just sign out at the nurses' station.

How do I apply?

Call admissions. We'll talk with the hospital or your doctor, verify insurance and, if a bed is available, often admit the same day.

Do you take VA benefits?

Some veterans qualify for VA-paid nursing home care through community care contracts. Our social services team can help you check.

Is there a waiting list?

Rehab beds are usually available within a day or two. Long-term rooms sometimes have a short wait; call us for current availability.

What does long-term care cost?

Daily rates depend on room type. Our business office will go over private pay, insurance and SoonerCare with you before admission.
