Senior living is a monthly fee with no entrance fee. Assisted living adds a care fee by level. Our business office walks every family through it before move-in.

Private pay

Most residents pay monthly from savings, pensions or the sale of a home. Your lease lists every charge.

Long-term care insurance

Many policies cover assisted living care. We help with claims and the monthly documentation insurers request.

VA Aid and Attendance

Wartime veterans and surviving spouses who need help with daily living may qualify for this monthly pension.

Life insurance and home equity

Some families use a life insurance conversion or the proceeds of a home sale. We can refer you to independent advisors.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Is Vineyard Hall independent living or assisted living?

Both, under one roof. Most residents live independently in a suite or residence. Assisted living is on the third floor, with licensed nurses around the clock, so a change in health never means a change of address.

Is there an entrance fee?

No. Vineyard Hall is a monthly rental with a twelve-month lease and a one-time community fee. Natalie will give you a written price sheet for every floor plan.

How is assisted living priced?

By level of care. Our director of nursing completes an assessment before move-in and the monthly care fee follows from it. We review it with you every quarter and whenever needs change.

Does Medicare pay for senior living or assisted living?

No. Medicare does not pay for rent, meals or personal care in senior living or assisted living. It still covers doctor visits, hospital care, therapy and most prescriptions the same way it would at home.

Can long-term care insurance help?

Many policies cover assisted living care. Our business office will help with the claim paperwork and the monthly care documentation insurers ask for.

Are there benefits for veterans?

Wartime veterans and surviving spouses who need help with daily activities may qualify for the VA Aid and Attendance pension. We can point you to a county veterans service officer who helps with the application.

Do residents have to drink wine?

Not at all. The cellar is one part of evening life here. The bar pours a good many iced teas, mocktails and decaf coffees, and our Thursday tastings always include something without alcohol.

How does medication work around the wine program?

Our nurses review every resident's medications. If a doctor has advised against alcohol, the dining room knows quietly, and there is always a beautiful alternative in the glass.

Can I bring my own furniture?

Please do. Every residence comes unfurnished except the respite suite, and we will send a designer to help you plan the space.

Are pets welcome?

Cats and small dogs are welcome in independent residences, with a courtyard dog walk and a groomer who visits monthly.

Can family stay over?

Yes. Our guest suite on the second floor can be booked for a few nights at a modest rate, and family are always welcome at supper.

What happens if I need more care than assisted living provides?

We will be honest with you early. Licensed home health and hospice agencies can serve residents here, and if skilled nursing is ever needed, we help families find the right place nearby.

Is there a nurse at night?

Yes. Licensed nurses are on duty around the clock on the third floor and respond to emergency calls from every residence in the building.

How far is the nearest hospital?

Several full-service hospitals are within about fifteen minutes. Grapevine's ambulance response to our address is typically just a few minutes.

Can I keep my car?

Of course. Valet parking is included, and we wash cars on Tuesdays. Many residents eventually let our chauffeur handle the evenings.

Do you offer short stays?

Yes. Our furnished respite suite is available from one week to a few months, with meals, housekeeping and assisted living care in a daily rate.

How do I start?

Call or text the concierge desk, or book an evening tour online. Natalie will follow up with floor plans and a price sheet the same day.

Is the building accessible?

Every entrance, hallway and residence was designed for wheelchairs and walkers, with level floors, wide doors and elevators large enough for a stretcher.

Stay for supper. We'll set a place.

Evening tours on Thursdays and Fridays, daytime tours six days a week. Call, text or book online and the concierge will meet you at the door.
