A resident leaning in to smell the pink blossoms on the garden arbor

Residential care · Hot Springs, Arkansas

Under the wisteria, every afternoon is tea time.

A licensed residential care home for nine in a 1920s house on Quapaw Avenue. Gentle help with each day, a garden that blooms purple every April, and a table that always has room for one more.

Since 2003

Graceful care for people who have earned a little grace.

Evangeline Moss nursed her own grandmother at home for six years. When she bought the old Whitfield house on Quapaw Avenue, the wisteria on the arbor was already eighty years old. She trimmed it, painted the porch lilac and opened Wisteria House for nine residents who wanted care without giving up a home.

Our days are unhurried. Breakfast comes when you are ready for it. Afternoons bring tea on good china, a hand of bridge or a slow drive past Bathhouse Row. Evenings are quiet, and the caregivers who tuck you in are the same ones who greeted you that morning.

Kind words from our families

Mother has arranged flowers for every church wedding in Malvern since 1962. At Wisteria House she does the dining table every Monday, and she has never been happier.
Caroline T.Daughter of a resident
They used her good teacups. That tiny thing told me everything about how they would treat her.
Allison G.Granddaughter of a resident
Rosa calls me after every doctor visit, even when there is nothing to report. I did not know how much I needed that.
Michael P.Son of a resident
When Daddy went on hospice, Evangeline sat with him through the night so Mama could sleep. We will never forget it.
Renee W.Daughter of a former resident
Nine residents means they notice everything. A new cough, a quiet afternoon, a missed lunch. Nothing slips by.
