Good to know

What families ask

We live way out. Will you really come?

Yes. We have nurses living in Woodward, Alva, Buffalo and Seiling, and we drive section-line roads every day.

What if something happens at night and you're an hour away?

We leave an emergency comfort kit at every home with written instructions. A nurse talks you through using it on the phone while she drives out.

Does Medicare pay for hospice?

Yes. The Medicare hospice benefit covers the care team, medicines, equipment and supplies for the hospice diagnosis, usually with nothing owed.

When should we call?

When a doctor expects the illness to run its course in about six months or less, or when treatment is no longer helping. Calling to ask questions commits you to nothing.

Can he stop hospice if he changes his mind?

Yes. Hospice is always a choice. He can leave hospice and return to treatment, and come back later if needed.

However far out you are, we'll come.

Call or text with any question. A hospice nurse will answer, and nothing happens until you're ready.
