Outdoor gait training
Gravel, grass, curbs, ramps and a footbridge, practiced on our garden path.
IncludedShort-term rehab · Victoria, Texas
Physical, occupational and speech therapy six days a week, private suites and a half-mile garden path under the oaks, for Crossroads families getting back on their feet after surgery, stroke or illness.
The idea
Our gym is excellent. But home isn't a gym. It's a gravel driveway, a curb at the grocery store, three steps up to Mom's porch in Goliad. So our therapists take you outside as soon as you're ready: down the garden path, over the little footbridge, up the practice ramp and across the uneven stones.
Indoors, you'll have a private suite, nurses around the clock and a team that meets weekly about your progress. Outdoors, under the live oaks, you'll find out you can do more than you thought.

Sample family reviews
Marco had me crossing that little footbridge on day nine. When I got home, the gravel driveway didn't scare me one bit.
Daniel worked with Papá every day in Spanish after his stroke. By discharge he was ordering his own breakfast again.
Having breakfast on the patio under the oaks made me feel like a person again, not a patient.
Lisa called me every evening. I live in Houston, and those calls were the only reason I slept.
Carmen had the walker, the shower chair and the home health nurse all lined up before Mom came home.
My hip was replaced on a Monday and I toured the Friday before. Knowing what to expect made all the difference.
Tom the gardener cheered every lap I walked. By the end he was timing me.
Rosa got me back in my kitchen. I made tamales for the therapy team the week after I went home.
Private room, quiet nights and a team that actually talked to me. Seventeen days and I walked out.
