Physical therapy
Walking, balance, stairs and strength after surgery, a fall or a long illness.
Medicare Part AShort-term rehab · Waxahachie, Texas
Physical, occupational and speech therapy up to six days a week, private suites and nurses around the clock, in the heart of Ellis County. Most of our guests are home in two to three weeks.

Why Crape Myrtle
Everything here is pointed toward the front door. Your therapists ask on day one what home looks like: how many steps up to the porch, where the bathroom is, whether there's a grandbaby to lift. Then that's what we practice.
Between sessions, rest in a private suite with your own bath, order from a real menu, and let our nurses manage the medicines and the wound care. Your job is getting stronger.

I had my knee replaced in April and was dreading rehab. Kayla made me laugh every session, and on day fifteen I walked out to my daughter's car with a cane.
Dad had a stroke and couldn't button his shirt. Brittany worked with him every day in the practice kitchen. He's making his own coffee again.
The private room made all the difference. I actually slept, and that meant I had energy for therapy.
Janet had the home health nurse, the walker and the shower chair all lined up before Mom came home. Nothing fell through the cracks.
Ramon called me every evening to tell me how my wife's day went. I live in Ennis and couldn't visit every day, so that meant everything.
The therapist came out to our house before I went home and moved half my furniture. I haven't tripped once since.
I toured before my hip surgery and knew exactly what to expect. Best decision I made all year.

Insurance & payment
Most short-term rehab is covered. Our admissions team verifies your benefits before you arrive.

Most plans cover skilled rehab with prior authorization, which we request for you.
Many employer plans include skilled rehab benefits. We'll check yours.
Can help with costs after Medicare days run out for those who qualify. Ask our business office.
Available for guests without coverage. We'll give you a clear daily rate in writing.
Where you'll stay
Every short-stay guest gets a private room. Recovery is easier when you can sleep.

Our standard short-stay room: private bath with walk-in shower, recliner, flat-screen TV and a window on the garden.

A larger corner suite with a sitting area where your family can stay late.

A wider room with a larger bed, lift and roomier bathroom, set up for safe transfers.

Every suite has a roll-in shower, grab bars and a fold-down seat, so practice for home starts the first morning.
