Chapter 01 — Honey Creek, Grove, OK
Assisted living on Grand Lake · Grove, Oklahoma
Forty-four apartments on the Honey Creek arm of Grand Lake, with caregivers awake around the clock, a nurse who manages the medicines and a pontoon that goes out every Tuesday from May to October.
Chapter one
A lot of our residents spent their summers on Grand Lake: a cabin at Monkey Island, a boat slip at Har-Ber, a fish fry every Fourth. When the stairs and the yard and the night-time worries got to be too much, they didn't want to trade the water for a parking lot. Neither would we.
So Lakehaven is built the way a lake house should be: big windows, a long porch, a dock you can walk to with a rollator. Inside, it works like good assisted living. Caregivers help with bathing, dressing and medicines, someone is awake all night, and supper is on the table at five-thirty.

My husband is in a wheelchair now and they still get him on the pontoon every Tuesday. He looks forward to it all week.

Friday catfish is as good as the place on the highway, and nobody has to drive.
They gave us the whole price on one page. A year and a half later, it's what we pay.
