The shift problem
In 2013 Yvette counted the adult day programs in Midland and Odessa. Every one closed by five. Half the families she met as a nurse worked twelve-hour shifts or two-week hitches.

Our story
A nurse, an empty supply warehouse and a town that works around the clock.
Our story

In 2013 Yvette counted the adult day programs in Midland and Odessa. Every one closed by five. Half the families she met as a nurse worked twelve-hour shifts or two-week hitches.
She leased an empty oil-field supply warehouse on Big Spring Street, put the nurses' station in the middle of the floor and built a kitchen big enough for three meals a day.
Permian opened in 2014 with eighteen members and one van that left at 5:30. By the next year there were three vans and a waiting list for Saturdays.
We added the therapy gym in 2017 and the memory care room in 2019, because families kept asking for both under one roof.
Seventy-some members come on a busy day. Many of our staff work the same shifts as the families we serve, and know exactly why the hours matter.
