Our story
Why we built a rehab center that measures success by how fast people leave.
Our story

In 2010 the River Valley's hospitals were discharging hip, knee and stroke patients to rehab beds two counties away. Families drove an hour each way, and too many patients came back to the hospital within a month.

We built Primrose Hill in 2011 around a two-story therapy gym, with private suites on both sides and a practice apartment in the middle. Every hallway leads to the gym.

Every patient gets a target discharge date in the first 72 hours, and the whole team works backward from it: therapy goals, family training, home-safety visit, equipment and follow-up.

In 2015 we built a joint replacement pathway with local orthopedic surgeons, so patients can tour before surgery and come straight to us afterward.

Most of our patients go home in two to three weeks. We call every one of them within 48 hours of discharge, and many come back to visit the therapists who got them there.
