Our story

Jolene Tidwell drove every back road in Cleburne County as a home health nurse. Her patients loved the lake and dreaded the day they would have to leave it.

Mark spent his career with the Corps of Engineers on Greers Ferry Lake. When he retired, Jolene had an idea for how they could spend the next twenty years, and it involved a lot of remodeling.

In 2012 they bought a rambling cedar house with three hundred feet of shoreline, added a wing of rooms, widened every door and paved a lighted path to the dock.

Their first resident was a retired fishing guide who had been one of Jolene's patients. He was on the dock at seven the first morning, and it has been a tradition ever since.

Families have asked us to build more rooms. We have stayed at sixteen so every caregiver knows every resident, and so there is always a spot on the dock.
