Questions, answered
What is a residential care facility in Arkansas?
Arkansas licenses residential care facilities to provide room, meals, supervision and help with daily activities like bathing, dressing and medications. They are not nursing homes, so a resident who needs round-the-clock skilled nursing would need a different setting.
Is the dock safe for residents?
The path is paved and lighted, the dock has railings, and a caregiver is always on the dock when residents are. Anyone who would rather not walk can ride down in the golf cart.
How do families pay?
Most residents pay privately or with long-term care insurance. Veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for VA Aid and Attendance. Ask our office and we will walk you through what may apply.
Do residents need a fishing license?
Arkansas residents 65 and older can buy a reduced-cost lifetime license, and Mark is happy to help with the paperwork. Rules can change, so check with Arkansas Game and Fish.
Can my mother keep her own doctor?
Yes. We drive residents to their own doctors and share notes with every provider. A visiting physician also sees residents here monthly.
What happens if care needs grow?
Many needs can be met here with home health or hospice visiting. If someone needs more care than we can safely provide, Jolene helps the family plan the next step.
