A licensed residential care home on the shore of Greers Ferry Lake. Help with every part of the day, meals cooked here, and a dock where the coffee is always on.
Welcome to the lake
Jolene Tidwell was a home health nurse in Cleburne County for eighteen years. Over and over, her patients told her the same thing: they did not want to leave the lake. In 2013 she and her husband Mark, a retired Corps of Engineers ranger, bought a big cedar house on Bluebird Point and turned it into sixteen private rooms with a view of the water.
The care is what you would expect from a nurse who has seen it all: careful, steady and personal. The setting is what nobody expects. Residents fish off the dock, watch the sun set behind Sugar Loaf, and on summer evenings the whole house eats supper on the porch.

Sample family reviews
Dad fished this lake for fifty years. The first morning at Sugarloaf, Brianna had his pole baited before he finished his coffee.
Jolene was Mom's home health nurse years ago. When Mom needed more help, there was only one place we considered.
The Friday crappie fry is worth the drive from Little Rock. I have not missed one in two years.
My grandmother rode the pontoon on her ninety-first birthday. The photo is on every phone in our family.
Tamika calls every Sunday afternoon like clockwork. I never have to wonder.
Mom was so isolated at home. Now she has music night, puzzles and a dock full of friends.
When Dad went on hospice, they moved his bed so he could see the water. That's the kind of people they are.
The grandkids beg to visit. They fish with Grandpa off the dock, and he teaches them everything.
Sixteen residents, and the caregivers know every one of them by their coffee order.
Rooms & suites
All sixteen rooms are private. Most look toward the water; the rest look at the woods, which some residents prefer.

Faces the cove, with a big window and a chair to watch the water.

Looks into the oaks and dogwoods, quieter and cooler in summer.

A larger room with a roll-in shower, built for walkers and wheelchairs.

Opens almost onto the screened porch, for residents who like to be close to the action.

A bedroom and a small sitting room with a shared bath, for spouses who want to stay together.

Nobody should have to give up the water just because they need a hand with the rest of the day. So we built the care around the lake: mornings on the dock, afternoons on the porch, and caregivers who know which resident wants the first cast and which one wants the shade.
