Volunteer art teacher
A retired art teacher from Bastrop High who runs Wednesday painting on the porch.

Porch cat and morale officer
Biscuit arrived as a stray in 2015 and never left. He is pictured here with Mrs. Teodora, his favorite lap.
Sample family reviews
Dad was a fiddle player in a dance hall band for thirty years. The first Friday, they put on Bob Wills and he stood up from his wheelchair to two-step with Yesenia.
Ray caught that Mom's oxygen was set wrong from her last hospital stay. He called the doctor and had it fixed that afternoon.
My grandmother speaks mostly Spanish now. Here, everyone answers her in Spanish and she is the queen of lotería.
Celia makes Mom's enchiladas the way Mom used to make them. She asked for the recipe on move-in day.
I visit on my lunch break and it is never quiet. Somebody is always laughing, painting or arguing about dominoes.
They painted Dad's room Longhorn orange. He hasn't stopped bragging about it.
When we needed hospice, they never once made us feel like we had to leave. Dad stayed home with his records until the end.
I was so worried Mom would be lonely. Instead she has a best friend, an art class and a boyfriend. I am still adjusting.

Tours are any day, but Friday afternoons show you the real Chestnut Street. Call or text Celia.
