Our story

Red River opened with forty beds and a dirt parking lot on what was then the edge of town. The first administrator lived two blocks away and walked to work.

Hospital stays got shorter and patients came to us sicker. We knocked out a wall, built a therapy gym and started sending people home instead of only caring for them here.

Forty-eight private rehab rooms, a practice kitchen, a staircase and a real car door to practice on. Short-stay patients now outnumber long-term residents two to one.

A respiratory therapist, a wound nurse and eleven therapists on staff, and the same promise as 1972: tell families the truth, and pick up the phone.
