Our story

In 1987 Ada Pennington, who ran the flower shop on Main Street for forty years, gave ten acres on the bluff and three hundred rose bushes to a new not-for-profit board, on one condition: keep them blooming.

Twelve garden cottages opened in 1989, each named for a rose. The first residents formed the garden club before the paint was dry.

Primrose House assisted living opened in 1998 and the Bluff Health Center in 2004, so residents could stay through every season.

Memory care opened in 2012, built around a walled garden so residents could walk among the flowers safely, any hour of the day.
