Apartments and cottages for people over 62 who still have plans, ten minutes from the Rose District and a short drive from the grandkids.
Hi, neighbor
Sunnyside Commons opened in 2012 on a former sod farm south of Kenosha. We built ninety-six apartments and twenty-four cottages around a big lawn, a saltwater pool and a clubhouse that is almost never quiet.
Our residents are retired teachers, oilfield engineers, church secretaries and one former rodeo clown who still does card tricks. They have their own front doors, their own cars and their own schedules. We handle the cooking, the cleaning, the repairs and the party planning, and somebody always notices if you skip coffee two days in a row.

Sample family reviews
Mom moved here grumbling that she was 'not a joiner.' She is now treasurer of the bingo league and has a laminated rulebook.
I used to drive across town for pickleball. Now I walk out the back door, play two games and I'm home before the coffee's cold.
Dad stopped going to the café for two days and the front desk called me before I even knew he had a cold. That phone call sold me.
We sold a four-bedroom house in Jenks and a riding mower. We do not miss the house. We definitely do not miss the mower.
The pottery studio is the best-kept secret in Broken Arrow. I've made sixty-three bowls. My kids have asked me to stop.
Carla came to the house three times before the move. By the time we got here, Mom's pictures were on the walls and her bed was made.
After my husband passed I didn't leave the house for a month. Here, somebody knocks on my door every morning to walk to coffee. I'm grateful every day.
No buy-in meant we could try it for a year. That was four years ago.
My grandkids think Grandpa lives at a resort. Honestly, with the pool and the ice cream social, they're not far off.
Rooms & suites
Every floor plan has a full kitchen, a washer and dryer and a patio or balcony. Bring the dog, the cat or the parakeet.

A bright studio with a full kitchen and a patio, sized for one person and a lot of houseplants.

Our most popular apartment: a living room big enough for a recliner and a guest, plus a walk-in closet.

Two bedrooms and two baths, so there's room for the grandkids, the sewing machine or both.

A two-bedroom cottage with an attached garage and a front porch facing the lawn.

A ground-floor apartment with a patio that opens straight onto the raised garden beds.

Retirement is not a waiting room. Around here it's pickleball at nine, pottery at two, a potluck at six and somebody's birthday every single week.
